We hope all our soccer families are doing well during this unusual year. Unfortunately we have some sad news about our 2020 soccer season.
The North Perth Soccer League executive has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many were hopeful that we would be able to have some sort of soccer season in July and August, but after reviewing the Return To Play Guide released by Ontario Soccer this week it is clear that it wouldn't be possible for us to move ahead in a safe and compliant manner within the timeline that is acceptable for our members (that being a July/August season).
I'm sure this message is going to cause confusion and possibly frustration for some as it comes within a week of Doug Ford announcing Phase 2 of reopening, but I can assure you that the NPSL executive is not making this decision lightly, and all options within the guidelines provided have been carefully considered. The Newton Tigers will be moving forward with registration refunds as soon as possible, and we ask that you please be patient as we work through this. (we've never had to process refunds on this scale before and we are trying to find the best way to do it)
We are saddened that we will not be able to provide a soccer program this summer, and we would like to thank you all for registering. We hope to see you all back in 2021!!!
